Equations / Aboveground biomass
Areca palm (pinang) AGB from DBH
葉子 · CC0 · iNaturalistAs printed (Results and Discussion, p. 385)
In this library's units, ready to compute (kg)
Aboveground biomass = 0.0689 * D^2.5977D- Diameter at breast height (1.3 m), cm
D is stem diameter at 1.3 m (D1.3, called DBH in Fig. 4). AGB = stem (WBT) plus leaf dry weight, fruit and flowers taken into account; kg dry mass. Palms sampled in classes of <6, 6-9, 9-11 and >11 cm DBH (3 per class); exact min and max not printed. The two height equations (AGB = 0.8164 H^1.4202 and AGB = 0.03883*H*D^1.2) are left out because the paper calls H both total plant height and stem height.

Shaded: the DBH range the model was fitted on. Other inputs held at the values above.
On every build, the library's form and the paper's own form (in its units) must both give these values within 1%.
